There are three common reasons you may not see your password reset email:
You don’t yet have a BMI account. To get started joining BMI, please complete the application at www.bmi.com/join.
The email you entered doesn’t match the email BMI has on file (where you receive your BMI account communications). Try using a different email address - one that you may have used on your original BMI application.
The email may have been filtered. Be sure to also check your spam folder, as automated emails can sometimes land there. To make sure you receive future emails, add no-reply@bmi.com to your Safe Sender list.

No. With BMI’s integration of multi-factor authentication, you are no longer required to change your password on a regular basis. If needed, you can change your password through the Forgot Password process.
If you are a songwriter or composer, you will see your account in OLS. If you are logging in on behalf of someone else, and you do not see their account, that means you haven’t been granted access to the account yet. There are two ways to get access:
Ask the BMI account owner to grant you access. The songwriter or publisher can log in and select Third Party Permissions from the main menu to give you the access you need. The first step is to Add New User and the process won’t be completed until Application Permissions are saved.
Request authorization through BMI. If the account owner received an error message or you’re unable to connect with the account owner, you can contact us, and we’ll initiate the authorization process to grant you access.
