BMI is once again very proud of its many Latin affiliates who were singled out for achievements at this year’s 35th Annual Premio Lo Nuestro, which were held last night at the Miami-Dade Arena in Miami. Highlighting the very best in contemporary Latin music, this year’s ceremony found many BMI songwriters and music creators taking home trophies.

The evening’s biggest winners were Grupo Firme. The Regional Mexican band took home six trophies in total. Karol G followed with four, and Bizarrap and Shakira tied with three each. Additionally, Puerto Rican reggaeton superstar Ivy Queen was recognized with the Premio Lo Nuestro Legado Musical al Genero Urbano (Legacy of Urban Music Award), marking her the first female artist ever to receive this honor.

Beyond the accolades, Premio Lo Nuestro was also an explosive evening for music. Highlights included the worldwide premiere of “No Es Mi Culpa” by Paulina Rubio, a dynamic medley of hits by Ozuna, a parade of greatest hits by Ivy Queen, some rollicking performances by Grupo Firme and Pepe Aguilar. Álvaro Diaz played favorite like “Babysita 💔,” “Lentito” and “1000Canciones,” while Elena Rose performed a rendition of “Bayamón.” Aymée Nuviola dueted on a version of “Pan Para Yolanda,” and the evening closed with a tribute to composer Arthur Hanlon, featuring Ivy Queen, Lupita Infante and Goyo. Other great moments included songs by El Alfa, Gloria Trevi, Ricardo Montaner, Mau, Fuerza Regida and Grupo Frontera.

Below are all BMI’s winners and their multiple awards. Congratulations to all.
