The Sutler Saloon in Nashville turned into a site of song and celebration, as BMI affiliate Keith Urban celebrated with the writers of his 18th #1 hit “Raise ‘Em Up,” a single off his latest album Fuse. Written by BMI songwriters Tom Douglas and Jeffery Steele with Jaren Johnston, the duet with BMI affiliate Eric Church climbed to the top of the charts this spring. Keith and writers treated the crowd of industry executives, friends and family to a performance of the song and Eric sent his congratulatory regards via video. The #1 marks the 8th for Tom and the 11th for Jeffrey. The song was recently nominated for CMA’s “Musical Event of the Year.” Keith has just a few tour dates leading in to fall, and is already at work on his next album.
