SEA Gains the Support of Congressman Joseph Crowley of NY
BMI affiliates in the Bronx, Queens and across America will be pleased to hear that Congressman Joseph Crowley (D-NY-14) (@repjoecrowley) has joined lead Democratic cosponsor Congressman Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY-8) (@RepJeffries) in supporting H.R. 1283, the Songwriter Equity Act of 2015. The bill, which was introduced in March by Congressman Doug Collins (R-GA-9) (@RepDougCollins), continues to gain momentum on the Hill and Congressman Crowley’s support is welcome news. Congressman Crowley serves on the House Committee on Ways and Means. In addition, he is the Founder and Chair of the Congressional Musicians Caucus and a member of the Creative Rights Caucus, the Songwriters Caucus and the Recording Arts and Sciences Congressional Caucus.
