BMI Classic Contribution Award winner, conductor and composer Lucas Richman led a record-number of composers in this year’s Conducting Workshop for Visual Media Composers. Held virtually for the first time, this year also marks the first time in the workshop’s history that it featured alumni from previous workshops, with 65 participants in all. The three-week program, which usually includes 8-10 participants, helped the scribes, many of them world-class composers, build on what they’ve previously learned while continuing to develop their conducting technique and score preparation under the guidance of Richman, who has co-developed the workshop for more than two decades.
