Neither Rain nor Wind Could Halt the Fun at BMI’s 2012 Lollapalooza Stage
Music enthusiasts attracted to a diverse line-up of must-see performers flocked to the BMI-sponsored stage at Lollapalooza, held at Grant Park’s Hutchinson Field in Chicago on August 3-5. The BMI stage, shaded by rows of American elm trees, hosted performances that kicked off each day at noon, setting the pace at the annual music festival.
Many of the 300,000 festival-goers seeking an idyllic respite—and shelter from the rain—were drawn to the BMI stage by the moody melodies of Ambassadors; American Idol alum Haley Reinhart; fearless troubadour Kevin Devine; folk band Dry the River; soaring siren Helena; London/Los Angeles-based thenewno2; rhythm wrangler Dev; guitar strumming Laura Warshauer; hip-hop rocker Chancellor Warhol; other-worldly Moon Taxi; Rolling Stone touted Empires; rock amalgamators The Dunwells; thought-provoking singer/songwriter LP; crowd seducers Walk Off The Earth; Berklee alums Red Oblivion; hip-hop indie rocker Outasight; natural born partiers Overdoz; Canadian rockers Imaginary Cities; rock iconoclasts The Sheepdogs; Malaysian ingénue Yuna; and indie darlings The Jezabels.
BMI is proud to present and sponsor stages at C3’s music festivals: Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits Music Festival (October 12 -14). BMI’s partnership with these elite festivals is designed to offer more prime showcasing opportunities to its songwriters, a distinct priority of the organization.
