Univision’s annual grand celebration of the best in global Latin music, Premio Lo Nuestro, was held last week in Miami. The evening featured comedy sketches by the hosts, star-studded performances and an incredible amount of recognition for the strength and talent of the BMI Latin roster, who earned an impressive array of the evening’s accolades. Among others, Prince Royce and the late pop songstress Jenni Rivera both won three awards, respectively, including Artist of the Year and Female Pop Artist of the Year. 2013 BMI Icon Banda El Recodo snagged Regional Mexican Group of the Year and 2012 BMI President’s Award recipient Pitbull won for Urban Song and Urban Artist of the year.
