BMI’s Next Big Wave Mixer Forges New Songwriter Relationships

Music Row’s next generation of BMI songwriters were offered a unique opportunity on Tuesday, July 26, as they gathered at BMI’s Nashville office for the latest Next Big Wave series, sponsored by Studio Bank. Over 70 emerging creatives had the chance to forge new relationships with individuals at similar points in their career. BMI’s Nashville Creative team was on-hand to offer insight into the company’s role in helping them navigate the music industry.

BMI’s Leslie Roberts kicked off the evening with words of encouragement for attendees, before introducing Next Big Wave alum, James McNair, who now has two #1 Country radio singles; “Lovin’ On You” and “Going, Going, Gone” by Luke Combs. Past notable participants also include HARDY, Jon Langston, Michael Ray, Mikey Reaves, Rocky Block and many more. The Next Big Wave series, sponsored by Studio Bank, is known to offer unsigned songwriters important guidance while seeking a first-time publishing deal. The next session of the quarterly series will be held in September with a focus on the pop genre.
