BMI provided the closing entertainment for the Louisiana and Mississippi Broadcasters Associations at their joint annual convention held recently (5/21/15) at the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino in Biloxi, MS. BMI songwriters and Louisiana natives, Jim McCormick and Payton Smith entertained together and separately, wowing the crowd during the closing celebration dinner. McCormick performed his two celebrated #1 hits: Jason Aldean’s “Take a Little Ride,” and Brantley Gilbert’s “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do,” along with songs from his new project. McCormick’s songs have also been recorded by Luke Bryan, Tim McGraw, Keith Urban, Jamey Johnson, and Trish Yearwood. Smith, a 15 year old rising songwriter, recently signed with BMI and has written with McCormick and award-winning songwriters Stephanie Bentley, and Rob Crosby.
