BMI & Spotify EQUAL Host a Songwriter Mixer for Women’s History Month with a Special Performance by ivri
BMI was excited join forces with Spotify EQUAL, a global initiative to foster gender equity in music, in co-hosting a special songwriter mixer on March 30, in celebration of Women’s History Month. Held at the Taglialatella Gallerie in Manhattan, this invite-only event featured a special live performance by Brooklyn-based BMI singer/songwriter and artist ivri, whose intimate set included her genre-blending songs “erosion,” “FUZZY” and her viral hit, “tower of memories,” a global phenomenon with over 60M streams on Spotify. In between songs, ivri fielded questions on her songwriting and creative process with Spotify’s Senior Editor - Rock, Alternative, and Metal Laura Ohls.
Also in attendance were BMI songwriters Susannah Joffe, Aria Lisslo, Syd Hudson, LEXXE, Lucia Padilla-Katz, Mira Housey, Zola Simone, Sierra Spirit, Tess Shannon and Kathryn Gallagher among others.
Spotify EQUAL launched 5 years ago to address an industry reality of women artists, songwriters, and producers facing fewer opportunities, less visibility, and unequal access throughout their careers. Since launching, the program has expanded across more than 40 markets worldwide, supporting over 1,400 ambassadors through editorial support, marketing opportunities, and sustained visibility. Hand-picked by the partnership and editorial teams of Spotify EQUAL, ivri is the initiative’s April ambassador.
This event was sponsored by Laelia Tequila and Señora Leona.
