BMI made the trip to the Delta and brought homegrown music to the International Broadcasters Idea Bank annual spring conference, held recently (5/14) in Cleveland, Mississippi. BMI songwriter and Ride recording artist Steve Azar entertained more than 100 independent radio owners and executives at the GRAMMY Museum in Cleveland with stories and songs from his catalogue of chart busting hits, including “I Don’t Have to Be Me ‘til Monday,” which has received close to 4 million performances. Azar, who spent many years in Nashville as a successful recording artist and songwriter, currently lives in his hometown of Greenville, Mississippi, where he not only continues to make music, but serves as the state’s official Music & Culture Ambassador.

The International Broadcasters Idea Bank is a membership driven organization of commercial radio broadcasting owners and managers. The purpose of the organization is to share knowledge and best-practices amongst its membership.
