BMI Latin Spotlight: Alisun
Alisun is a Mexican-Cuban singer/songwriter born in the United States to parents who instilled in her the importance of her cultures and the love for music and art. Early on, she took piano, voice, and acting lessons, and today, her hard work and persistence is paying off with the release of her indie-pop solo music. Still in her early twenties, Alisun is ready to present her first project to the world—a project that, in her words, is “created from the heart.” Just like her own name (a combination of her first name, Alison, with her last name Solís, whose root comes from “sol” in Spanish, which means “sun” in English), Alisun’s music is bright and magical. Her most recent single, “They Live In and Around Us,” was released on April 1, 2022, and serves as the follow-up to her debut, January’s “Hypothermia.” Having already toured with Camila and completed her university studies, Alisun looks forward to giving her listeners a unique and magical experience. As she says, “I would like each person who listens to my music to be able to decide what it means to them, because everyone has their own perception of things, and that is the beauty of life.”
