BMI Indie Spotlight: July 2025
Summer’s here and the time is right for the next BMI Indie Spotlight! Los Angeles-based Brandon follows with an expressive songwriting style that is both intimate and expansive, conveying complex emotional themes with the songwriter’s accomplished, multi-instrumentalist chops. Practicing a unique blend of folk-and-American-inflected indie, meanwhile, Khatumu is a rising songwriter currently turning heads with her serene vocals and heartfelt lyrics. Maryon King is a versatile, genre-straddling songwriter from Moldova and the UK already building a reputation as a captivating performer. Driven by compelling gift for storytelling, j solomon is a songwriter deftly blending the softness of modern folk with the raw energy of sweeping, atmospheric guitar rock. After touring with names like Spoon, Nicole Atkins and Blind Pilot, Jo Alice is offering listeners a fresh palette of poetic lyrics and thoughtful melodies. Isaac Lewis is music creator taking influences ranging from folk to classic rock to hip-hop and soul to create his own unique blend of pure, expressive music, and fresh off a recent tour with Sting, Alison Moyet and Shaggy, keytar synth-ax-wielding SOPHIE GREY. is raising the flag for the “Retro Electro” revolution.
