BMI Congratulates its 2026 Ivor Novello Award Winners
BMI is very proud of our writers, producers, and composers who won big at this year’s Ivors with Amazon Music held on May 21 at Grosvenor House, London. These prestigious accolades recognize and celebrate exceptional achievements in songwriting and screen composing.
This year, Elton John was awarded the highest accolade given by the Ivors - an Ivors Academy Honour in recognition of his outstanding support for songwriters, composers, and creative talent, as well as his long-standing advocacy for artistic freedom, creators’ rights, and the protection of human creativity in the age of AI. The Ivors Academy also announced that Elton John will become its first-ever President, a newly created role in which he will represent and champion the global community of music creators while helping advance the Academy’s mission to protect the future of music.
Other special moments included esteemed songwriter Linda Perry receiving the Special International Award for creating for some of the most iconic songs of the last three decades, from her work with 4 Non Blondes to writing global hits including “Beautiful” and “What You Waiting For?”. ROSALÍA received the International Songwriter of the Year, given the immense success of acclaimed projects including LUX and Motomami. Her innovative approach to each release has cemented her as one of the most impactful global songwriters of our generation.
