On Saturday, June 11, BMI presented Tribeca Talks: The Art and Business of Scoring for Film, TV & Visual Media, as part of the Tribeca Festival’s Music Lounge at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn. The panel, moderated by BMI’s Senior VP, Creative Alex Flores featured leading composers Kathryn Bostic, Carlos Rafael Rivera and Tamar-kali, who dove into a compelling conversation surrounding the creative process and the business side of composing for films. Speaking to a packed audience that included many students, the panelists shared what it takes to get your music heard, the relationship between directors and composers, and what inspires them to create every day.
