DREAMERS, Luke Combs, R.LUM.R, Karen Elson, AJR, White Reaper and more take over the 2017 BMI Stage at ACL

For the fifteenth year in a row, BMI will bring the best up-and-coming artists across all genres to the BMI stage at the Austin City Limits Music Festival. Music-enthusiasts can kick off each day at the legendary Zilker Park checking out some of the hottest BMI singer-songwriters and bands October 6-8 and 13-15. Bigger and better than ever, this year’s festival features expanded grounds and an improved layout for an even better music discovery experience at the BMI stage.

Since 2003, BMI has proudly fostered budding talent by showcasing a curated selection of BMI’s most promising songwriters at ACL. In the years since its inception, the BMI stage has drawn large crowds eager to see acts like Miranda Lambert, Alessia Cara, X Ambassadors, City and Colour, Gary Clark, Jr., Shakey Graves, Jon Pardi, and Catfish and the Bottlemen, prior to becoming music superstars. Following her performance on last year’s BMI stage, country powerhouse Maren Morris went on to become ACM New Female Vocalist of the Year, CMA New Artist of the Year and was awarded a GRAMMY for Best Solo Country Performance.

The first weekend of the BMI stage at ACL opens with the multi-talented Jonny P and includes stellar sets from country’s “dark horse” Devin Dawson and funk dynamo Spencer Ludwig (Oct. 6), R&B sensation R.LUM.R and country radio standout Luke Combs (Oct. 7), as well as celebrated Nashville hitmaker Caitlyn Smith and pop breakout act AJR (Oct. 8).

The second weekend continues with buzzworthy performances by psychedelic folk/rock band Liz Cooper & The Stampede and irreverent indie darling Two Feet (Oct. 13), indie-pop trio DREAMERS and folk songstress Karen Elson (Oct. 14), with soul baring singer-songwriter Tucker Beathard and garage punk band, White Reaper, closing out another year at the BMI stage on the final day of the festival (Oct. 15).

“BMI takes pride in discovering and showcasing rising talent,” said Mason Hunter, Executive Director, Strategic Partnerships & Events. “We’ve brought top-notch acts to Austin for the last 14 years and we’re excited to continue to do so this year.”
