Songwriters, Musicians Heard at Demo Panel

Posted in News on May 30, 2003
BMI New York recently sponsored a "Demo Panel" that addressed the question of how to get a demo heard by industry professionals. Each panelist discussed their approach to reviewing demos, as well as what they look for in submissions. The panelists also listened to about 15 demos at the event.

Seen after the panel are Mary Gormley, VP A&R, Atlantic Records; Jennifer Gilson, booker/co-founder for The Living Room; BMI's Brooke Primont, Director, Writer/Publisher Relations; Rita Houston, Music Director, WFUV FM; singer/songwriter Paul Brubaker, who moderated the panel; and Jay Lustig from The Newark-Star Ledger.
