Broadcast Music, Inc. has partnered with the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) to present a live webcast of the NEA Jazz Master awards ceremony and concert taking place at Lincoln Center on January 13, 2014. This exciting webcast will begin at 7:30 p.m. (EST) on the 13th and can be viewed even after that date at http://www.bmi.com/jazzmasters.

As an avid supporter of musical exploration and development, BMI is also sponsoring the 6th Annual Awards Luncheon at the JW Marriott Essex House on January 13, 2014, in honor of the 2014 NEA Jazz Master Awards recipients. This year’s honorees include BMI composers and artists Anthony Braxton and Keith Jarrett, along with jazz musicians Jamey Aebersold and Richard Davis. Paying tribute to the new honorees with not-to-be-missed performances will be NEA Jazz Masters Muhal Richard Abrams (2010), Kenny Barron (2010), Jimmy Heath (2003), Dave Liebman (2011), Jimmy Owens (2012) and George Wein (2005). NEA Jazz Masters and Jazz at Lincoln Center Managing and Artistic Director Wynton Marsalis will co-host the event with journalist Soledad O’Brien.
