BMI’s Acoustic Lounge took over The Bluebird Café in Nashville on Tuesday night, May 27, for a sold-out show featuring emerging BMI songwriters Maggie Antone, Carter Faith, Elizabeth Nichols and Thelma & James.

The series, sponsored by Shure and hosted by BMI’s Shannon Sanders, kicked off with BMI’s Jackson Kiger introducing each singer/songwriter before the evening’s performances began. Carter Faith started the round by performing her newly teased track “Billy Bob Thornton,” followed by the never-before performed “So I Sing,” “Grudge,” and “Sails.” Maggie Antone continued with her edgy country sound on “The Devil’s Not In Hell,” “Borrowed Angel,” “Evelyn,” and “High Standards.” Making her Bluebird debut, Texas-native Elizabeth Nichols joined in with “Bible Belt,” “Somebody Cooked Here,” her viral smash “I Got A New One,” and introduced the crowd to “Hand-Me-Down Genes.” Thelma & James, a duo consisting of Mackenzie Porter and Jake Etheridge, ended the round with “Chainsmokin Memories,” “First Love,” “Happy Ever After You,” and “Canaries in Cole Mines.”

The next installment of BMI’s Acoustic Lounge at The Bluebird Café will take place on Friday, May 30, featuring members of the Belmont University Songwriters Association.
