On May 28, BMI hosted the second installment of its signature Rooftop On The Row series, presented by George Dickel Whisky, which featured the exceptional talent of GRAMMY Award-winning Lukas Nelson and singer/songwriter Kaitlin Butts. Attendees gathered on the roof of BMI’s Nashville office for a night of free entertainment, music, food and drinks provided by event sponsors George Dickel Whisky, Delta Air Lines, Fat Bottom Brewing Co., First Horizon, Gallagher Insurance, Red Bull Jukebox, Texas Roadhouse, White Claw, YETI, and Xperi.

The seventh season of the annual series launched with a set from DJ Smoke before BMI’s Mason Hunter welcomed Kaitlin Butts to the stage. The Oklahoma native and 2025 Opry Next Stage Class member paid homage to her western roots with “White River,” “Roadrunner,” and “Other Girls (Ain’t Havin’ Any Fun).” Butts showcased her authentic storytelling and humor with her viral hit “You Ain’t Gotta Die (To Be Dead To Me).”

Following Butts, Nelson previewed songs from his forthcoming debut solo album American Romance available June 20 on Sony Music Nashville. He kicked things off with “Ain’t Done,” “Outsmarted” and “Pretty Much.” Continuing the headlining set, Nelson welcomed Butts to join him on stage to duet his genre-blended ballad “Find Yourself” and closed out the evening with an acoustic version of the album’s title track “American Romance.”

BMI’s Rooftop On The Row series returns on July 15 with headliners Tucker Wetmore and Tanner Adell followed by Vincent Mason and Max McNown on August 12. The final event on September 9 will serve as the official kickoff to AMERICANAFEST, with performers for the final show to be announced soon. Over the years, BMI’s Rooftop On The Row has hosted notable artists such as Morgan Wallen, Billy Strings, The War And Treaty, HARDY, K. Michelle, Riley Green, Colbie Caillat, Wyatt Flores, Ella Langley, Maddie and Tae, LOCASH, Dylan Marlowe and Mitchell Tenpenny.
