Verano Alternativo Spotlights New Generation of Latin Music

Posted in News on September 6, 2007

BMI hosted its fourth annual Verano Alternativo show on August 16 at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood. Representing the new generation of Latin music based in Los Angeles, this year’s lineup featured Cubiky, Ceci Bastida, Monte Negro, Upground and Legion. Playing to a sold-out room, the groups ranged from rock to ska to uniquely Cali-Latino pop-rock. Showcasing the growing independent voice in Latin music that is centered in Southern California, Verano Alternativo was supported by LATV, Tu Ciudad magazine and Bazuca magazine.
