Senator Barbara Boxer Co-Sponsors Songwriter Equity Act

BMI affiliates everywhere will be pleased to learn that Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) (@BarbaraBoxer) has joined with lead Democratic co-sponsor Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) (@SenWhitehouse) in co-sponsoring S. 662, the Songwriter Equity Act of 2015. The bill, reintroduced in the Senate in March by Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT) (@SenOrrinHatch), continues to gain momentum in both Chambers of Congress, and Senator Boxers’ support is welcome news. Senator Boxer is Ranking Member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee and also serves on the Senate Foreign Relations and Select Ethics Committees.
