The Royalty Network, an independent publishing company and BMI affiliate, has launched a viral competition called #WriteForRoyalty that gives entrants the opportunity to win an exclusive writing contract. They have tweeted song pitches in four styles: Pop, hip-hop, electronic, and R&B, through the handle @RoynetMusic and have also posted a short video explaining the contest. Participants may choose a pitch and submit one original work by tweeting a SoundCloud or YouTube link to @RoynetMusic with the hashtag #WriteForRoyalty. Submissions will close on June 12. On or about June 26, the winner will be announced, and will be presented with an exclusive agreement to join The Royalty Network’s talented roster of writers who have placed songs on albums of superstars such as Kanye West, Ed Sheeran, Amy Winehouse, Beyonce, Daughtry, Shaggy, Flo Rida, Kelly Clarkson, Black Eyed Peas, and Coldplay, plus film, television shows, and ads such as Pitch Perfect, American Idol, Gossip Girl, Dancing With The Stars, Budweiser, Gillette, Heineken and many more.
