Lauren Alaina Performs at This Year’s Rising Through the Ranks

Celebrating its 14th year, Rising Through the Ranks, a two-day management training program for female radio executives, was held recently (8/10-8/11) at BMI’s office on Music Row in Nashville. The highlight of the two-day program was a performance by BMI songwriter and Big Loud Records recording artist Lauren Alaina. This annual event is a collaboration between BMI, the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) and the Mentoring & Inspiring Women in Radio organization (MIW). The sessions feature several presentations by some of the radio industry’s top leaders and are designed to give the participants the tools they need to take the next step in their career path. This year, BMI awarded 25 scholarships to deserving women working in the radio industry in various markets across the country. The annual dinner where Alaina performed was sponsored in part by Xperi, a longtime supporter of BMI’s songwriter events. Alaina is a critically acclaimed artist who has won multiple ACM and CMA awards. Earlier this year she celebrated her induction into the Grand Ole Opry.
