Indie Spotlight: EDJ

Posted in News on June 23, 2014

No longer tied down to Fruit Bats after nearly 20 years, Eric D. Johnson is exploring. Now under the moniker EDJ, he and a rotating ensemble of musicians including The Shins’ James Mercer and Vetiver’s Andy Cabic are playing with genres across decades, drawing inspiration from everything from New Wave to film scores and British folk. The songs explore loss and disappointment, but don’t forget to mention moments of redemption. With Johnson’s seasoned penmanship and fresh, adventurous backing music, August 5 and the release of EDJ cannot come soon enough.
