BMI’s Vice President, Film/TV Relations, Doreen Ringer-Ross recently attended “Art of the Score: A Performance and Discussion with Harry Gregson-Williams” on Friday, January 30, 2015, during the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

The event explored Gregson-Williams’ approach to film music (the BMI composer has scored several Hollywood hits, including the Shrek series, The Chronicles of Narnia series, The Town, Man on Fire, Kingdom of Heaven, Spy Game and Blackhat). He shared his creative process, from the first spark of an idea through the delivery of a final score. In a live performance, featuring electric violinist Hugh Marsh and film excerpts, attendees examined the indispensable role music plays in cinema.
