BMI recently helped celebrate hit songwriter Gordon Bradberry’s new publishing deal with Green Hills Music Group. Bradberry grew up on the gulf coast in Grand Isle, Louisiana, so the revelers enjoyed some of the songwriter’s favorite southern Louisiana cuisine prepared by Chef “Chappy” at Chappy’s on Church. Artists including Montgomery Gentry, Billy Ray Cyrus, Wayne Toups, Sammy Kershaw, Lee Greenwood, Chris Knight, Conway Twitty, Chely Wright, Al Anderson, Christy Sutherland and Hot Apple Pie have recorded his compositions; in 2006, Bradberry won his first BMI Country Award for co-penning Jeff Bates’ “Long, Slow Kisses.”
