Epiphone Guitars Help BMI Writers Celebrate Their #1s
#1 songs don’t come along every day, and although many BMI writers have felt the excitement of having written a chart-topper more than once, the first time is their induction into an elite world of having made musical history. To help these first-timers celebrate, it’s been BMI’s tradition, in partnership with Epiphone, to award them with brand new J-200 axes, complete with the BMI logo. Recently, BMI songwriters Karen Fairchild, Phillip Sweet and Jimi Westbrook of Little Big Town, who penned the #1 hit “Day Drinking” with veteran #1 songwriters Barry Dean and Troy Verges, were happily surprised with their chart-marking gifts.
