BMI to Partner with Cox Media Group on Songwriters Festival

BMI and Cox Media Group-Tampa unveiled plans on May 30, to partner on the 1st annual Downtown St. Petersburg Songwriters Festival. The news was delivered at a press conference held at St. Petersburg’s Duke Energy Center for the Arts/Mahaffey Theater and featured an enthusiastic endorsement by St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman and a special performance by GRAMMY Award-winning BMI songwriter Tim James. The inaugural event will take place November 1-3, 2019, and will feature more than 35 BMI songwriters sharing their songs and the stories behind them in bars and restaurants throughout downtown St. Petersburg.
