BMI’s Howdy Texas Returns to Austin with Day Party at the Saxon Pub

BMI kicked off a week of events at the 2022 SXSW Music Conference and Festival yesterday with its signature BMI Howdy Texas event. The day party took place at the Saxon Pub, the location of the monthly songwriter series presented by the performing rights organization (PRO).
The event featured 6 full band sets and 5 Austin-specific solo acoustic sets. Highlights of the day included performances by indie-rock newcomer KALI, Nashville-based songwriter Ben Burgess, and surf-rock band Sun Room.
The event was sponsored by Austin Eastciders, Texas Music Office, Topo Chico, Austin Music Movement, and ONErpm.
