On Thursday, February 27, the Spelman Women in Hip-Hop Collective, Morehouse Music Group and Culture Collective Clark Atlanta University hosted a special event with BMI, inviting students from the music management programs at Morehouse and Spelman to attend. As part of BMI’s series, “How Did I Break?,” BMI Director, Creative-ATL, Reggie Stewart moderated a discussion between Senior Director of A&R at Atlantic Records Sammye-Ruth Scott, and GRAMMY-award winning BMI affiliate, Keyz, the record producer/songwriter behind hits by Beyoncé, Cardi B, Chris Brown, Bryston Tiller, K Michelle, Wiz Khalifa, Rick Ross, Lucky Daye, Trey Songz, Teyana Taylor, Jeezy, Eric Bellinger and many more. Both shared stories and advice about breaking into the music industry and what it takes to sustain a career.
