Broadcast Music, Inc. congratulates the nominees of the 2013 Billboard Mexican Music Awards (also known as Premios Billboard a la Música Mexicana), set to broadcast live on Telemundo on October 9 from the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California. The nominations were announced late last week during the show Un Nuevo Día on Telemundo.

Norteño star Gerardo Ortiz leads the pack with a total of 12 nominations in key categories and is followed closely by the late Jenni Rivera, who received nine nods, including “Artist of the Year,” “Digital Download Artist of the Year” and “Album of the Year,” a category in which she’s nominated twice, for La Misma Gran Señora and Joyas Prestadas: Banda. Roberto Tapia, another standout banda star, earned seven nominations while La Arrolladora Banda el Limón de René Camacho clinched six
