BMI Mourns the Loss of James Brown
We are deeply saddened at the passing of James Brown, a true giant and innovator in American music. With more than 800 songs in his BMI catalog stretching back more than 40 years, he had many close and lasting relationships with members of the BMI staff during his spectacular career. He was saluted as the BMI Icon in 2002 at an event attended by the best and brightest of both the creative and the music business community. Video highlights of that event can be found here.
