Broadcast Music, Inc. and the Nashville Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce partnered to present “Making Music Happen” Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at BMI’s office on Music Row. This special event included music industry insights from BMI’s Vice President of Latin Writer/Publisher Relations, Delia Orjuela, and Director of Writer/Publisher Relations, Nashville, David Preston. The event opened with a meet and greet, and was followed with acoustic performances by GRAMMY-nominated Latin artists Elsten Torres and Gustavo Galindo, with the panel discussion capping the gathering.

Following “Making Music Happen,” Orjuela and the team from BMI’s Los Angeles office presented “Fiesta Nashville,” a showcase celebrating Hispanic artists, hosted at the Anthem venue in Nashville. Torres and Gustavo did another set, singing songs in both Spanish and English, after which Nashville rocker Rachel Rodriguez and her band supplied a soulful sound. The performances came to a close with rising country artist Frank Ortega. The showcase highlighted the contributions of these talented Hispanic artists to different genres of music.
