Broadcast Music, Inc. congratulates the composers nominated in the Creative Arts categories of the 65th Annual Emmy Awards. The annual awards show, which celebrates excellence in national primetime programming, will air September 22, 2013, on CBS, from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, with the awards in the Creative Arts categories being presented on September 15.

BMI composer Nathan Barr was nominated twice this year in the same category, Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music, for his work on The Americans on FX Networks and Hemlock Grove, Netflix’s new original series. Composer David Schwartz is also nominated for his work on an original Netflix series, the newly revived Arrested Development. Schwartz clinched a nod in the Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Original Dramatic Score) category. Composers Sarah Jane Buxton and Kate York are nominated in the Outstanding Original Music & Lyrics category for their collaborative work on ABC’s hit show Nashville, as is the legendary Alan Menken for his music on ABC’s The Neighbors. Composers Mychael Danna and Anton Sanko received Outstanding Music Composition for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special (Original Dramatic Score) nods for their music on World Without End (ReelzChannel) and Ring of Fire (Lifetime), respectively.
