Broadcast Music, Inc. congratulates all of its GRAMMY-winning songwriters and composers, announced during a star-studded event full of performances by top artists Sunday night in Los Angeles. Sam Smith, the winner of the coveted Best New Artist trophy, was also the winner of the Best Pop Vocal Album for In The Lonely Hour. He performed his breakout hit “Stay With Me (Darkchild Version),” which also garnered him the hardware for both Song of the Year and Record of the Year.

Rosanne Cash nearly swept the Americana categories, taking home Best American Roots Performance and Best American Roots Song for “Feather’s Not a Bird,” off of her Best Americana Album winner The River & The Thread. Jack White won Best Rock Performance for his album Lazaretto and Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package for his work as art director on the prolific The Rise & Fall of Paramount Records, Volume One (1917-27). Eminem picked up two GRAMMYs, one with Rihanna for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for their track “The Monster” and a record sixth for Best Rap Album for The Marshall Mathers LP2. The soundtrack to Frozen, which dominated the Billboard charts at the end of 2014, won Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media. Songwriters and composers Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez also picked up a GRAMMY for their smash hit from the flick, “Let It Go.”

The night also featured a spotlight on the newly formed Creators Alliance, a group developed to lobby for fair pay for music creators across all platforms. The head of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, Neil Portnow, introduced the advocacy organization, which includes founding members and BMI songwriters Adam Levine and Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds.

Congratulations to all the BMI winners!
