Barker, who was also inducted into the Texas Heritage Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2007, is responsible for many of country megastar George Strait’s hits, including “Baby Blue, “I’d Like To Have That One Back,” I Know She Still Loves Me,” “Love Without End, Amen,” and “I Can Still Make Cheyenne.” The winner of a whopping 10 BMI Country Awards, Barker also penned the huge hit “What About Now” for Lonestar.
