BMI partnered recently (10/4) with The Tavern League of Colorado to present a seminar to its members on music licensing and the legalities surrounding music use in bars and taverns. The session, which took place at the Dive Inn, a Denver bar, also featured a performance by award-winning BMI songwriter Clint Daniels, who not only performed some of the big hits he wrote for country stars such as Joe Nichols, Montgomery Gentry and Brooks & Dunn, but discussed the important role that the bar industry plays in his life and how crucial the BMI licensing fees paid by Colorado establishments are to his livelihood. The Tavern League advocates on behalf of members to improve business conditions and provide a larger voice regarding issues affecting the bar industry.
