BMI & Spotify Host the Songwriter Mixer in New York City

BMI was excited to co-host a special Songwriter Mixer event with Spotify, earlier this week, at the Taglialatella Gallery in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City. Sponsored by Laelia Tequila and Curious Elixirs, this invitation-only event was a great opportunity for songwriters, producers, and other music creators to mix, mingle and network, while enjoying an evening of great live music. BMI singer/songwriter Hannah Cohen performed an intimate set featuring songs off her latest album, Earthstar Mountain, which was released earlier this year. One of the album’s standout tracks, “Summer Sweat,” was featured on Spotify’s 2025 Songs of Summer playlist, an annual tastemaker list of the defining hits of the season. In between songs, Cohen fielded a few in-depth questions about her songwriting and creative process with Spotify’s Talia Kraines.

In attendance were BMI songwriters like Sierra Spirit, Fia James, Bentley Robles, Summer Joy, Tucker Bickell and Imogen Weiss.
