BMI Sponsors Song Camp for in collaboration with Deep Cut Music
Recently, BMI’s Austin office, our Film/TV team and our Los Angeles-based Pop team collaborated with The Willo Co & Yoohoo Music Group in sponsoring a song camp from Oct 28 - Oct 31 at the Big Loud Studios in Austin. The camp was organized/hosted by BMI songwriter Leslie Powell and Nashville-based manager Shelby Yoder. The goal of the program was for mostly Texas-based music creators to write for shows like Alien, Adults, Fargo, upcoming Hulu series Furious, and a new Texas-based Apple TV show called Brothers.
Along with Powell, an Austin/LA based songwriter, participating BMI music creators included Alex Lambert, a singer/songwriter/artist originally from Texas but now based in Nashville, Caroline Grace, an artist from Dallas, Carlton Anderson, a singer/songwriter from Nashville, Davis Naish, a songwriter from Los Angeles, Keelan Donovan, an artist/songwriter from Austin, Tim Lightyear, a producer from Dallas, and Whakaio Taahi, a producer from Nashville, among others.
