BMI partnered with the American Hotel & Lodging Association Foundation to present a songwriter in the round performance in New Orleans at the kickoff session for their Executive Leadership Academy (ELA), a six-month learning experience for C-suite level hotel executives that focuses on inclusive leadership. The performance, which was titled “Songwriter Showcase: Inclusivity in Music,” featured BMI country songwriters Willie Jones and Tiera Kennedy not only playing their songs, but also sharing the stories behind their creations, as well as recounting the challenges they have faced in their quest to succeed in Nashville. Tiera, a native of Birmingham, is signed to Valory Records, while Willie hails from Shreveport and has forged a partnership with Sony Nashville. They both have new music being released in the coming year.
