BMI partnered with the Virginia Restaurant, Lodging & Tourism Association in presenting a session on storytelling at the 2019 Virginia Tourism Summit held recently (11/18) in Crystal City, VA. Entitled “Telling Powerful Heritage Through Music,” the session focused on where music and storytelling meet, and featured local BMI singer-songwriter Crys Matthews, who was interviewed by Richmond radio personality and podcaster Kelli Lemon. Matthews, a resident of Herndon, VA, shared her songs with the audience of more than 500 travel & tourism professionals and discussed how she uses her voice to be a “drum major for justice.”
