BMI Remembers Oscar Botello, a.k.a. Milkman
BMI was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Oscar Botello, the Mexican-born/Texas-raised producer and rapper better known as Milkman, who died Friday. Beyond his considerable skills behind both the production console and the microphone, Milkman was also the creative mastermind behind the visual direction of some of J Balvin’s most celebrated eras, helping take reggaeton around the world. Beyond his groundbreaking work with Balvin, Milkman also worked with luminaries like Álvaro Díaz, C. Tangana, Jhay Cortez, Belinda, Jesse Baez, and others.
“Milkman was a visionary who elevated the art of visual storytelling in music. The industry has lost a true talent,” said BMI’s VP, Creative, Latin, Jesus Gonzalez. From bold visual direction to immersive creative production, Milkman’s influence extended far beyond the stage. His artistry and vision leave a lasting mark, and he will be missed by his friends, fans and family at BMI.
