BMI Nashville Hosts ‘Just Keke’ Visual Album Party for Keke Palmer
Wednesday night, BMI hosted an event at its Nashville office on Music Row with the Emmy-winning multihyphenate Keke Palmer to celebrate her new visual album, Just Keke. The evening started with BMI’s Vice President Creative, Nashville, Clay Bradley welcoming an at-capacity audience mixed with fans, industry executives and fellow music creators. BMI’s Vice President, Creative, Atlanta, Catherine Brewton then started a Q&A with Palmer about her career and what inspired her to make the visual album, which she entirely funded herself as a labor of love. Tayla Parx, who co-produced and co-wrote many of the songs on the album, joined the conversation about the project that’s been well-received by fans and critics alike since its release on June 20. Palmer then surprised the audience with a performance of two of her favorite songs from the album, accompanied by Chuck Harmony on keyboard, taking the album “full circle” Palmer began with the album’s first track, “Off Script” and finished with “Misunderstood.”
