BMI Indie Spotlight: Rett Madison

Posted in News on March 5, 2024

Rett Madison is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist originally from West Virginia, now based in LA. Madison has made a name for herself by pairing powerful vocals with hauntingly honest lyrics and infectious melodies. Over the years she’s worked with many artists including singing backup vocals for Lorde and Kate Nash, opening for Sheryl Crow and Elle King, and supporting Grace Potter and Fitz & the Tantrums. Ahead of her debut album, Pin-Up Daddy, Madison released a string of singles including hit song “God Is a Woman.” The 2021 album featured cathartic song, “Shame Is a River,” which earned praise from Rolling Stone who dubbed her voice as “simultaneously brazen and vulnerable.” Madison released her second album, One for Jackie, in 2023 as a tribute to her mother after her passing. The critically acclaimed 12-track album is a manifestation of her raw emotions and powerful memories in gutting lyrics and commanding vocals.
