BMI Indie Spotlight: Junior Varsity
Junior Varsity is a Los Angeles-based music duo consisting of singer Greg Varteresian and producer Zach Michel. Fusing elements of pop-punk, alternative rock and experimental hip-hop, Junior Varsity earned a dedicated following largely thanks to their high-energy energy live shows. After the release of two EPs and a 24-date North American tour supporting Jean Dawson, the band is currently working on their first full studio album. The band has drawn notable playlist attention from singles like “Cold Blood,” “JV Movie Score,” and “Florida,” and have collaborated with artists including Spill Tab (“Weather”) and most recently, Mac Wetha, on his single “Red Hook,” released in February.
