BMI Indie Spotlight: Decade Rewind 2010-2020
In this special rewind edition of the Indie Spotlight, we’re looking back at twelve incredible artists, bands, and duos who we’ve featured throughout the last decade. At BMI, our finger is always on the pulse of what’s happening in new music, and we’re proud to have highlighted so many groundbreaking artists (like Imagine Dragons, all the way back in 2009) in the Indie Spotlight before they hit it big. For the artists featured in this 2010-2020 Decade Rewind, their appearance in the Indie Spotlight was just the beginning. All of them— Sofi Tukker, Halsey, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Florence + The Machine, X Ambassadors, Of Monsters and Men, FLETCHER, Andy Grammer, lovelytheband, Highly Suspect, AJR, and LANY— still have that indie spirit in their work, but the difference is that now, BMI isn’t the only one who knows it: the whole world does.
