BMI Indie Spotlight: DASHA
Dasha, a 23-year-old singer/songwriter from San Luis Obispo, CA, first captured listeners’ attention when her 2021 EP, Shiny Things earned a devoted fanbase on TikTok with her intimate pop style that harkens to country, folk and Americana. Her debut LP, Dirty Blonde, was released earlier this year, achieving millions of streams and prominent playlist placement. A student of Belmont University’s songwriting program for 2018 to 2021, Dasha acquainted herself with all the rules for crafting a commercially viable hit, but also the songwriting skills for knowing how to break them.
