BMI Indie Spotlight: Beauty School Dropout

Posted in News on September 15, 2022

Beauty School Dropout is a Los Angeles-based rock band comprised of Colie Hutzler, Brent Burdett, and Bardo, and spearheaded by Blink182’s Mark Hoppus under Pete Wentz and Sherry Saeedi’s Verswire label. Their debut album We Made Plans & God Laughed is a culmination of iconic mainstream rock influences and brings in heavy guitars, charging drums, sticky melodies, and timeless lyrics that call back to Motley Crue and Red Hot Chili Peppers. The seven-track We Made Plans features an amazing list of collaborators including Mark Hoppus, Andrew Goldstein, All Time Low’s Alex Gaskarth, Inverness, Slush Puppy, Ryan Follese, Nash Overstreet, and Dan Book, and in BSD’s words, is “ode to our hardships that we’ve faced as a band: failed relationships and fleeting mental health to figuring out how to be a band in a world shut down.” Popular singles from the trio include “Starphucker,” “Die for You,” and “LUCID DREAMS,” among others. We Made Plans & God Laughed is out now on all platforms.
