BMI Celebrates “Stargazing” Songwriters Jesse Fink and Peter Fenn with #1 Party in Los Angeles

BMI was excited to host a #1 party at our Los Angeles office earlier this month for songwriters Jesse Fink and Peter Fenn in honor of the tremendous success of their song, “Stargazing,” which they co-wrote with British songwriter Myles Smith*. As Smith’s introduction to the U.S. Pop Airplay chart, “Stargazing” landed at No.1, and also in the top 10 in Canada, Belgium, Germany, Austria and in Smith’s Native UK. The track also reached No.1 on Billboard’s Adult Pop Airplay, Alternative Airplay and Rock & Alternative Airplay charts, and was certified 2x Platinum by the RIAA. It has achieved over 1.2 billion streams and spent over 48 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100. Beyond this industry success, “Stargazing” has been featured in over 750,000 TikTok videos and is still going strong.

In light of all these amazing accomplishments, it was BMI’s honor to raise a toast to Jesse Fink and Peter Fenn, who also produced the track, and celebrate the success of their excellent work. This event was sponsored by Taylor Guitars, who presented Fink and Fenn each with their own Taylor acoustic guitar emblazoned with the BMI logo. This occasion was also notable in that it was the inaugural #1 party in BMI’s Los Angeles office.
